New York Taxi Workers Alliance Executive Director Bhairavi Desai to let lawmakers know that Uber & Lyft and other TNCs should abide by same rules that they must abide by. Some local restaurant owners, however talk of the need for better service in the upstate area and the easier access to customers that they would have with the TNCs. Uber and Lyft were pressured in NYC to abide by regulations or be shut down. In other cities or for that matter upstate New York, they do not offer to follow local laws right away, and this is one of the reasons the NYC Taxi drivers made the 2 plus hour trek to Albany.
